It means Vacation Bible School. VACATION because it will be the vacation time for children. Usually the biggest vacation problem for children is to know what to do with all the leisure time they suddenly possess. We will fill their evenings with profitable pleasure.
BIBLE because the textbook will be the world's best loved and most interesting book, the "Best Seller." Too little time is spent during the year teaching the Bible to our boys and girls. Here is an opportunity for daily systematic study of the Word of God.
SCHOOL because it is just that. The time will not be wasted, for children will learn, and under vastly different conditions from those to which they are accustomed. The subjects of study will also include handworks and surprises, so that even the youngest child need not become tired.

It means VALUABLE BIBLE STUDY. A study of God's word that will help to enhance the good and offset the bad that is learned elsewhere. It is also valuable because it is the only Bible training that some students will receive during the
year.

It means VERY BUSY SCHEDULE. You'll find that it is one of the most tiring activities you'll encounter in the kingdom of God. You'll also find that it's a good kind of tired as you reflect on the good that you have been allowed to have a part in.

It means VERY BEST SERVICE. A time when teachers and students alsike are called upon to give their very best. We are engaged in a serious business, handling matters that are divine and eternal. It is a sin to do less that that which we are capable of.

It means VALUABLE BELIEFS SHARED. We are granted the distinct privilege of sharing beliefs that have their validity proven by Scripture.

This Wednesday night (July 21) we will have the opportunity to teach our children and others the truth about creation. In a world that has denied that God has created the world and what is therein, it is important to realize that we need to give them some evidence that PLAINLY suggests that God did create the world in six 24 hour days. Many may argue that we cannot prove anything -- and that all of the evidence is with science. But I am 100% convinced that the Bible is true, and that the Bible tells us that God did create the world in six days, as well as tell us what happened to the dinosaurs and the "ultimate climate change" (yeah, man did cause it with his sin- read Genesis 6-9). JERRY ANDERSON will teach the adults Wednesday and Thursday, and DAVE MILLER from APOLOGETICS PRESS will be with us Friday through Sunday presenting these ideas to adults and teens alike. PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO BE WITH US -- who knows -- we all might learn something.

THE VALUES OF VBS -- REASONS WHY IT IS WORTH THE EFFORT
It introduces many to Jesus; strengthens the knowledge and faith of others and teaches respect for the Bible.
It furnishes opportunity for teacher training.
It increases interest in the Sunday morning Bible school.
Interested children open doors of opportunity for teaching non-Christian parents.
Concentrated daily teaching is more effective than weekly classes.
There is far less prejudice against a VBS. Many times as many as half of the students are from non-member homes.
It enriches all who help and makes for a stronger tie to the church.
It is a wonderful advertising medium and builds respect for the church.
