CHURCH BUILDING -- PROGRAM OR PROCESS
If someone mentions a new church building is being built, excitement fills the air and everyone wants to be a part of it. Plans are examined, decisions are made, and money is donated and committed to building a new church building.
But let us remember -- the church is not a building. To "build the church" we must be concerned about the souls inside the building -- helping them to grow, and to find their niche in the overall plan of God in "building HIS church." (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12).
We must be concerned about those "outside the building" who need to hear the gospel of hope and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ. We need to give them a chance to respond to the call of the gospel and be "added to the church" (here is REAL CHURCH BUILDING) when they repent of their sins, confess Christ and are immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38).
Sometimes in the church we talk about programs, set up programs, and have "programmed ourselves" to the point that we become like computers -- can't work without a program. But real CHURCH BUILDING is a process. Be a part of the PROCESS, not a program. GROW, DO GOOD WORKS, and TEACH!
SENTENCE SERMONS
• The world is equally shocked at hearing Christianity criticized and seeing it practiced!
• The man who loses his head is usually the last one to miss it.
• Concerning the church -- you are not too bad to come in and you are not too good to stay out.
• A cold church is like cold butter--never spreads very well!
