North Georgia State Fair
This has been a busy summer for many of us, and it is slowly beginning to wind down. As far as I can tell from my calendar, I have finished my obligations of Summer Series, and will be at our Summer Series for the rest of this year. However, we still have our Vacation Bible School coming up next week, and then school will begin on August 9th. Shortly thereafter, we will have our cooperative meeting, and then we sponsor a booth at the North Georgia State Fair.
In the booth at the fair we are trying to increase exposure of the church to this community, and hopefully we will set up Bible Correspondence courses and Bible studies with those who express an interest. Hopefully, we will be able to find some of these and teach the precious gospel to them. Pray for us—truly this is the greatest thing we can do for our Lord and His church. We will need YOUR HELP in this undertaking. Below is a list of the times the fair is open. We are required to have someone at the booth at all times when the fair is open. We have asked for help from other congregations. Please let us know when you will be able to help us.
The times the fair will be open are as follows:
Thursday, Sept. 23 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 24 4 p.m. to midnight
Saturday, Sept. 25 10 a.m. to midnight
Sunday, Sept. 26 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 27–Thursday Sept. 30 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 1 4 p.m. to midnight
Saturday, Oct. 2 10 a.m. to midnight
Sunday, Oct. 3 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
We must avail ourselves of every opportunity to teach others the gospel—let’s pray and do all we can to make this successful.
We will have plenty of handouts including “Heart to Heart,” tracts, as well as pens, bags and other things to keep the church before the people and in their minds.
Beginning today and going through the next several weeks, we will look at MORAL ISSUES OF TODAY. Today we will look at abortion, and how it has affected our society in so many different ways. With the onset of abortion on demand, we have lessened the value of human life and now other related matters are being discussed, such as euthanasia and suicide. Above all, we will see what God has to say about these issues. If we don’t stand for God’s morals, no one else will. We need to realize that these issues should affect every decision we make—especially decisions regarding politics and voting. If we don’t allow God’s morality to affect our thinking, what is our standard?
Other issues to be discussed are euthanasia, suicide, racism, pornography, fornication, divorce, alcohol, capital punishment, homosexuality and gambling. Pray for me and all of us as we study God’s words on these issues, that we may know where we should stand.
