Camp 2004
REJOICE — REJOICE — REJOICE
This week I and others had the precious privilege of baptizing 10 young people into the Lord. Please join me in encouraging the following as they begin their walk with the Lord.
TAMMY JONES — CENTRAL
MORGAN HAYES — BUFORD
ADAM ATCHISON — BUFORD
WAYNE GASAWAY — BUFORD
BRANDON TIDWELL— SOUTH COBB
STEPHEN HURST — SOUTH COBB
JOSH SHIPP —SOUTH COBB
RYAN STOWE — SOUTH COBB
NATHAN KNOTTS — SOUTH COBB
CHRIS KNOTTS — SOUTH COBB
As you can see, six of the ten young people immersed into our Lord were from South Cobb. Many prayers have been answered, and we truly rejoice with each and every one of them.
Camp is hard work, as those who counsel and give their time and effort and energy know. But weeks like this last week make it truly worthwhile.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that helped in camp this last week. Many of our members were counselors; others helped on Friday night in cooking food; still others helped in crafts, canteen and taught. Not including all of these, but many helped behind the scenes in collating and forming staff manuals, song books and other things. Finally, because of your generosity, many children were able to come that otherwise would not have been able. It takes a tremendous group of people to make camp work; and all of you are to be commended. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Brethren, let us realize today what freedoms and privileges we have in the United States of America. While it does have its problems, this country is still the greatest in the world. But we must fight to continue to protect those freedoms.
The greatest freedom, however, is found in Jesus Christ! He paid the ultimate price to secure our freedom from sin. Over the last few weeks I have been impressed again with the importance of the value of one soul, and what God and Jesus both were willing to pay for one soul! I wish we could all realize the way God looks at the value of one soul. I wish we could all see the seriousness of salvation, and NEVER take it for granted! I wish we could all see that hell is so terrible, that we would not want one of our friends or relatives to go there.
Let us tell all of our friends about the freedom we enjoy every day through Christ!
