WHAT DOES VBS MEAN?
It means Vacation Bible School. VACATION because it will be the vacation time for children. Usually the biggest vacation problem for children is to know what to do with all the leisure time they suddenly possess. We will fill their evenings with profitable pleasure. BIBLE because the textbook will be the world's best loved and most interesting book, the "Best Seller." Too little time is spent during the year teaching the Bible to our boys and girls. ELDERS, SHEPHERDS OF THE FLOCK
The New Testament uses several terms to describe those men who are to oversee local congregations of God's people. The word "elder" (Titus 1:5) speaks of one who is mature in the faith, while the word "shepherd" speaks of the work these men have in watching over the flock of God. D DAY
This is the term coined to describe the events of June 6, 1944 when the Allied Forces attacked the Germans in France, thus being the turning point of the war against Hitler and Nazi Germany, and today is the 66th anniversary of that day.
