SOUTH COBB NEWS
Lexann Johnson needs volunteers to help with the nursery in
2010. We will be going to a bi-weekly
schedule instead of monthly and she needs all the volunteers she can get.
The Ladies Bible class is
collecting donations for the Beijing,
China Church of Christ until January 5. For more information see Marice Allen
or Glenda Shipp.
Because of the holidays, the
next Tuesday morning Ladies Bible Class will be on January 5, 2010 at
10:00 a.m. and all ladies are invited to attend. We will host a guest
speaker from the Peachtree City Church of Christ who will discuss the church in
Beijing, China. You may remember that Peachtree City helped establish
a congregation in Beijing during the Olympics and it continues to exist and
prosper. We encourage every lady from South Cobb to come to encourage and
learn about this work. The nursery will be available and staffed.
JANUARY 14 SENIORS LUNCHEON AT THE BUILDING. 12:00 PM
JANUARY 31 -- TEACHERS APPRECIATION DINNER here at South Cobb.
We will honor our past and present teachers at this dinner after the
morning service. If you have taught in
the past, or are teaching at present; please give a note to Jon Stroud telling
him how long you taught and in what department.
THANK
YOU TEACHERS!
MAY 28-29, 2009 MARRIAGE
ENRICHMENT SEMINAR HERE AT THE SOUTH COBB CHURCH OF CHRIST! Glenn and Cindy Colley will be conducting this seminar for families on
this date, and we want to encourage everyone to be here for that! This is for newly married as well as older
couples, and also insights in child rearing and parenting will be included.
A CHANGE IN OUR WORSHIP!
BEGINNING
JANUARY 3, 2010 ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL
BEGIN AT 10:55 AM AND WORSHIP WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 11:00 AM.
If
you are serving in worship, please see Jeremy or Ronnie as soon as Bible class
is over.
Also
we ask that everyone be in the auditorium seated as soon as possible. We are worshipping our Lord together!!
Thank You, The elders!
It
has come to our attention that many of our members are congregating in the
foyer during worship and talking and generally "catching up" with one another
during this time. This is distracting to
those who have to leave the auditorium during worship to take care of sickness,
or of a rowdy child. We ask that you not
leave the auditorium during our worship time unless you absolutely need too.
Please leave the pews in the foyer for those mothers who are trying to settle
down a child, and respect their desire to worship God. Remember GOD is in our midst; He watches
all, and knows all! Please don't hinder
a brother or sister's worship by our
inattention.
WORSHIP GOD!
