SICK AND IN NEED OF PRAYERS
•JANE BAXTER, Charles Shipp’s sister, is now at home in hospice care.
•FRANK ESTES, Peggy’s husband, has some neurological problems, but is taking therapy at this time and is doing much better.
•DOROTHY FOWLER, Susan Jackson’s cousin, is now in hospice. Doctors have told her that they have done all they can to defeat the cancer.
•EDDIE GOUGH, son of Francis Gough, has been diagnosed with cancer. Doctors are continuing to run tests at this time.
•KATHERINE HESTER, a family friend of the Maupin’s is awaiting a liver transplant.
•GAIL HOLBROOK continues her struggles with rheumatoid arthritis. This is affecting her organs, and is why she stays sick with bronchitis and other problems. She is in need of our constant prayers.
•MADDIE KENDRICK, Linda Nowon's mother, is in Southern Regional Hospital with some problems at this time. We need to remember her and Linda in our prayers!
•FRANK LINDSEY will have pre-op work on January 23, 2008 for aneurysm surgery on January 28, 2008. This will be at Cobb Hospital, and will be done as an outpatient.
•DAVID LUTZ, brother of Jackie Stubblefield, has been diagnosed with cancer in his bones, lungs, lymph nodes and over his body. He is having trouble with his chemotherapy.
•ROMEKA MIDDLETON is home sick.
•THELMA PIRTLE has hip replacement surgery on Monday, January 7th. She is now in rehabilitation room 343 at Cobb Hospital, but hopes to get to go home Monday.
•MARY ROSS, cousin of Buddy Maupin, is suffering from lung cancer.
•PAT SCHINALL, friend of Margie Gattis, is awaiting a liver transplant.
•ABBY SMITH, 3 year old friend of Michael and Nancy Walker, has a brain tumor and a tumor in her spine that is inoperable.
•CATHERINE STIGER, one of the twins born to MIKE AND BETH STIGER (brother and sister in law of Susan Stroud), had heart surgery on December 20th. Doctors estimate she will need two more months in the hospital before they can consider releasing her.
•JEAN STUBBLEFIELD, sister in law to Jackie Stubblefield and aunt to Larry and Jennie, needs a kidney transplant to be able to survive.
•GERALD WASHINGTON, Laurel Bierley’s father, had hip surgery and is in the St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY.

SYMPATHY
•MYRTICE BAILEY, wife of former member BILL BAILEY, passed away last week and her funeral was Tuesday. We need to remember Bill in our daily prayers.
•MARLISA WELLS was a 16 year old Junior at South Cobb High School who was murdered this past Saturday. Let’s remember her family in our prayers.

•NATHAN KNOTTS reported to Navy Boot Camp November 19. His address is SR Knotts, R.N., Ship 5 Division 052, 3610 Illinois St., Great Lakes, IL. 60088-3118. Let’s remember him in our prayers. We have received letters from Nathan, and they are on the bulletin board.
•JOEY SHIPP, grandson of Charles & Glenda Shipp, has been stationed at Cherry Point, NC. His address is PFC. SHIPP, J.C. MWSS 274, PSC Box 8079 Cherry Point, NC 28533-0009. E mail address is stntn101@aol.com He is due to go to Iraq in February!
•MICHAEL SMITH is now at home on leave from Iraq. His address is PFC Smith, Michael J., HHC 41BCT 1ID, Unit # 42529, APO AE 09361. His email address is michael.smith182@us.army.mil. He will be leaving again for Iraq January 28th.
•KYLE HAMRICK, Tommy’s niece’s husband, is in the USMC in Fallujah, IRAQ for deployment for 1 year. As soon as we have an address we will print it in the bulletin.
•The congregation has been asked to write letters of encouragement to a group of soldiers serving in the U.S. Army. Heather Harding would like the congregation to write to her husband, Major Jerry Harding and the men under his command. There is a note on the bulletin board from Major Harding.
•ISHMAEL GORDON, Romeka Middleton’s boyfriend, is in the Navy and is now in school in Washington. He will graduate in January, and then be assigned his first duty assignment. His address is AEAA Gordon, Ishmael, 3665 N Princeton Ave., Oak Harbor, WA 98278. His phone number is 224-619-2768
•AMANDA WALL, former member here at South Cobb, is in IRAQ attached to duty in the Air Force. As soon as we receive an address we will put this in the bulletin as well.
•Our 4- 6th Grade class is collecting items for our military. The box is in the foyer in the back – please stop by the box and see what they need, and help out in giving some goodies from home for our service people overseas.

SOUTH COBB NEWS
•Ladies Bible Class – The ladies will continue at 10:30 AM each Tuesday.
•There is a weight loss support group meeting every Tuesday here at the building at 9:45 AM. The ladies meet in the Ladies Bible class room to encourage one another in their weight loss goals.
•We encourage everyone to attend SUNDAY NIGHT FOR THE SAVIOR. This was formerly Monday Night for the Master, and, in an effort to get more people involved, we will be meeting at 5:30PM on the 2nd and 4th Sunday nights of the month. The next meeting will be January 27th. Come and help us as we visit and strive to do the work of the Lord.
•PRAY FOR RAIN – and PRAY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LOST SOME JOBS RECENTLY! PRAY PRAY PRAY!
•THE FOOD TRUCK FROM RAINTREE VILLAGE CHILDREN’S HOME WILL BE HERE MARCH 3, 3008. They desperately need BLEACH, MOPS/BROOMS, AND COLD MEDICATIONS. They also need HAMBURGER HELPERS, AIR FRESHENERS, LIQUID LAUNDRY DETERGENT, MEXICAN FOODS (tacos, refried beans, taco sauces), ALL CLEANING PRODUCTS, MISCELLANEOUS THRIFT STORE ITEMS, FURNITURE, FABRIC SOFTENER SHEETS, PAPER TOWELS, SNAK-FOODS, and LADIES HYGIENE PRODUCTS.

YOUTH
•Feb 8 – Youth Night at the Hawks. Please pay the $10.00 fee for the ticket ASAP, if you plan on going.
•Feb 22-24, 2008. CHALLENGE YOUTH CONFERENCE in Gatlinburg, TN. South Cobb will attend with the Macland Road Youth Group. The cost for this trip will be $80.00. Please see Jon Stroud for more information.
•March 8 – Youth Rally at Piedmont Road. Theme- YOU CAN DO IT, HE CAN HELP. Terry Stuart of Blairsville, GA is the keynote speaker.
