PRAYER LIST
•JESSE BLANTON, nephew of Clyde and Joan Carson, has been deployed to Iraq by the army for his third tour of duty. He will serve for one year. His mailing address is: Capt. Jesse A. Blanton, 82nd Med. Co. (AA), APO AE 09333.
•AMBER BUICE is now back at home and doing well. She was released from the hospital Thursday.
•DAVID CARTWRIGHT, a friend of Sheron Keith, is suffering from cancer.
•GWEN FLANAGAN is mourning the loss of her mother, Sarah Rogers, who passed away last week.
•ORA GREEN has been moved to the Brian Care Center on Anderson Mill Road, Room 203. She is very weak and not doing well.
•EMMA HALL, sister of the late Bruce Taylor (he attended the Clarkdale congregation), has been placed in hospice care. Doctors have said her cancer is in the final stages.
•DEBRA HARDING, a friend of Sheron Keith, is suffering from cancer.
•GAIL HOLBROOK is undergoing medical exams and having lung and eyesight problems.
•BENNY HUNTON, Dawn Stubblefield’s brother, has been hospitalized in Florida after doctors discovered a hole between his small and large intestines. He is being treated with antibiotics, but might require surgery.
•RANDY JENKINS, a member of the Piedmont Road congregation will undergo a bone marrow transplant and needs volunteers to donate blood platelets. Anyone between the ages of 17 and 69 can be donors and platelets are not blood type specific. Those that are willing to be donors need to sign the spreadsheet on the bulletin board as soon as possible. These is also a letter on the bulletin board with additional information
•PAT JOHNSON, Eric Johnson’s stepmother, is not doing well.
•JOHN LASSITER is at home and recovering slowly from a quadruple bypass operation.
•JANE MCWHORTER, a well known author of women’s Bible study materials, was severely injured in a car accident in Fayette, Alabama. She broke her shoulder, cracked three vertebrae and several ribs, crushed her right hip and broke her right leg in 14 places. Doctors are not sure if she will ever walk again. She and her husband Don are in need of prayers and financial assistance. If you would like to make a financial contribution, please see Rob Stroud. •JENNIFER MILLS is suffering from Bell’s palsy.
•JEREMY & JENNIFER MILLS are expecting their first child. The baby is due on June 21.
•CHARLES SHIPP recently had a heart catheterization and is doing well. He will undergo some additional tests in January.
•JONATHAN & TAMI STROUD had a followup ultrasound for their second child, and everything appears normal. The baby boy is due in April.
•LARRY STUBBLEFIELD is recovering from his recent gastric bypass surgery.
•Edna Suddeth passed away last Thursday; her funeral was held Saturday in Rockmart.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
•Kyle and Crystal Walker and their daughters Shelby and Haleigh will be moving soon to the Catersville area. They will be honored during the fellowship meal following this Sunday’s morning service. See Michele Novitch or Celeste Peters for more information.
•Volunteers are needed to sign up to prepare the communion each month for 2006. A sign-up sheet will be placed on the bulletin board in the foyer.
•Please support the Bible school classes at South Cobb. The entire congregation is studying the same lesson each Sunday morning. The hope is that these new classes will foster more family Bible study and ultimately result in each member of the congregation being a better student of God’s word. The weekly Bible reading assignment can be found on the website or in the bulletin. Each student, children as well as adults, should study these passages in preparation for his or her Sunday morning Bible class.
•Volunteers are needed to sign up to host the Sunday evening youth devotionals each month for 2006. A sign-up sheet will be placed on the bulletin board in the foyer.
•Al & Brenda Gattis have moved. Their new address is 7056 Tara Dr., Villa Rica, GA 30180. Their phone number is (678) 776-0853.
•Robert Martin has asked for a one time contribution for computer equipment. Envelopes are available in the foyer for those who would like to contribute.
•All ladies are encouraged to attend the Ladies Bible Class each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the classroom located on the west side of the fellowship hall. An attended nursery is provided. The class is studying from “Friendship—Handle with Care,” written by Jane McWhorter. Please support this class and keep it in your prayers.
•Sunday door greeters are needed for 2006. Please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board.
•Camp Inagehi has published a cookbook and is selling them for $10. All proceeds go to benefit the camp. Please see Jonathan or Tami Stroud if you are interested in purchasing one.
•The area churches of Christ are currently running a commercial on local channels: 2, 5 and 46 on Sunday mornings.
•When planning an event for the congregation, please record it on the planning calendar in the foyer. If your event conflicts with another event, please see Larry Stubblefield.
MONDAY NIGHT FOR THE MASTER
•Monday Night for the Master meets every Monday at 6 p.m., beginning with a potluck dinner. Please come participate in this opportunity for fellowship and service.
BENEVOLENCE
•The pantry is in need of shortening, canned meats (ready to eat) and canned vegetables.
YOUTH
•Feb. 3–5 — Challenge Youth Conference (Gatlinburg, Tenn.)
The conference’s theme is “Challenge to be Bold.”
•Feb. 17–19 — YES Weekend 2006
The YES youth rally is hosted by the Forrest Park Church of Christ (Valdosta, Ga.). The theme is “The Rock” Matthew 7:24. See Jonathan Stroud if you are interested in attending.
•March 17–19 — S.O.A.R. Youth Rally
The Central Church of Christ in Augusta, Ga. will host the youth rally. The theme is “Guarding the Priceless” and Lonnie Jones will speak. See Jonathan Stroud if you are interested in attending.
•April 1 — Bible Bowl
The East Point Church of Christ is hosting its annual Bible Bowl. The questions will be based on Genesis, chapters 1–19. Volunteers are needed to coach a junior and senior team from South Cobb. If you are interested, see Jonathan Stroud.
SOUTH COBB EVENTS
•Jan. 15 — Friends Day
Please invite your friends to worship at South Cobb. There will be a fellowship meal following the morning service.

•Jan. 28–29 — Tara Beacon Lectureship
The Tara Beacon Lectureship is hosted by the Tara Church of Christ. The theme is “The Christian Family,” and speakers will include Jerry Whitmire, Scott Harp, Aubrey Johnson, Larry Acuff, Dan Jarrett, Phillip Satterfield, Roger Shepherd and Richard Harp.
