PRAYER LIST
•SANDY BRUNDIGE, Tommy Tidwell’s sister, has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
•LIZ CAPES suffered a heart attack last week and had a stent put in her heart Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She is in Rm. 730.
•RALPH GOUGH is scheduled to have a biopsy on Thursday at St. Joseph's
•ORA GREEN was hospitalized briefly last week with low blood pressure and potassium, but is now back home.
•EMMA HALL, sister of the late Bruce Taylor, has colon cancer and is in Rm. 527 at Braly Nursing Home in Dallas, Ga.
•CHARLOTTE HENDRIX, sister of Elenor Walker and Melba Shinholster, had surgery last Thursday in Bessemer, Ala.
•PAT JOHNSON, Eric Johnson’s stepmother, is not doing well.
•RICHARD KNOTTS has two uncles that live in Hattiesburg, Miss. which suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Katrina. He has not been able to contact them since the hurricane struck.
•JENNIFER MILLS is suffering from Bell’s palsy.
•DUSTIN MURPHY, a coworker of Mark Orler, was diagnosed with a malignant tumor behind his eye.
•MARVELENE PHILPOT saw the doctor yesterday and hopes to return home soon. She will no longer be able to live alone.
•REATHA RAWLINS, who works with the Sojourners and volunteers with her husband Gerald during South Cobb’s week at camp, is in Crawford-Long Hospital, Rm. 6203. Doctors have found a mass in her lung and are running tests.
•RICK SAILORS, a friend of the Finchers, has been diagnosed with colon cancer.
•JON SHIPP fell while cleaning the gutters at his home and suffered minor injuries and is very sore.
•HERSCHEL SIKES, Liz Capes’ brother, has come out of a coma and is doing much better.
•MELVIN THOMPSON, brother of Ed Thompson, is now at home recovering from a stroke.
•DELMA TIDWELL, Tommy Tidwell’s father, continues to have circulation problems in his feet due to diabetes.
•WENDELL WINKLER, a well known gospel preacher, has had major health problems and asked for prayers for himself and his wife.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
•The first of three planning meetings will be held this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. All members are invited to discuss technology use, education and youth. Handouts are available at both foyer entrances that list items to be discussed. If you are unable to attend, you may put comments or questions in writing and give them to Jon or Rob Stroud. Upcoming meetings will address outreach, visitation, fellowship, transportation, facilities, gospel meetings, missions and any other topic that needs to be addressed.
•Everyone is encouraged to attend Monday Night for the Master. Please use this opportunity to rededicate yourself to service for the Lord. There is plenty of work for everyone! There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer for those willing to help provide childcare.
•The Ladies Morning Bible Class is now meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. in the offices next door to the building.
•Lighthouse Learning Academy located at the Central Church of Christ in Smyrna is now accepting applications for Parent's Morning Out to begin in November on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, please call (770) 436-2525.
•The Cobb County Senior Services Department is in need of volunteer drivers for the “Meals on Wheels” program. If you can help, please call Terri McClellen at (770) 528-5381.
•Jeff and Michele Novitch’s new address is 5915 Magnolia Dr., Austell, GA 30168.
•Mark Estes’ new address is The Gallery at Virginia Square, 901 North Nelson Street, Mail Box 1006, Arlington, VA 22203
•Sunday door greeters are needed for the rest of 2005 and 2006. Please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board.
•When planning an event for the congregation, please record it on the planning calendar in the foyer. If your event conflicts with another event, please see Larry Stubblefield.

BENEVOLENCE
•The church of Christ disaster relief effort is accepting monetary gifts in order to continue providing more supplies. For more information, please call (615) 833-0888.
•Please begin bringing goods for Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets.

YOUTH
•Oct. 21–23 — West End Church of Christ Youth Rally
The theme is “Realizing the Gift of the One True Church” (1 Tim. 3:15).
•Oct. 22 — Cartersville Church of Christ Youth Day
Ryan Tuten from Lake City, Fla. will speak. The theme is “Respect: It’s what Jesus deserves from me!” Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided.
•Oct. 23 — Lazertag Youth Outing
The South Cobb and Macland Rd. youth groups will meet at Lazertag USA in Powder Springs near McEachern High School at 1:30 p.m. The price will be $11 plus money for lunch. Please let Jonathan Stroud know if you plan to attend or if you can provide transportation by Oct. 19.
•Nov. 11–12 — Lithia Springs Church of Christ Youth Lectureship
More information will be available soon.
•Dec. 27–30 — Exposure 2005
The theme is “The Reality Show” and will held at the Huntsville Hilton. The cost is $80. Please make your checks payable to the church and give them to Jonathan or Rob Stroud.

SOUTH COBB EVENTS
•Oct. 13 — Senior’s Luncheon
The luncheon will be at Bay Breeze on Veterans Memorial at noon.
•Oct. 15 — Harvest Dinner
The dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is asked to serve their dish in a skillet or dutch oven and bring antique tools or kitchen items for display. There is a sign-up list for those who need transportation and those who can provide transportation on the bulletin board.

AREA EVENTS
•Oct. 16–19 — Hiram Church of Christ Gospel Meeting
The meeting will feature several speakers speaking on the subject of “Standing Fast.”
•Oct. 16–19 — Harmony Grove Church of Christ (Commerce) Gospel Meeting
Jeff Coalson will speak on a variety of topics. See the bulletin board for more information.
•Oct. 17–24 — Grief Seminar at Central Church of Christ
“Surviving Sorrow: How to Triumph Through Tears” will be held weekly on Monday nights from 7–9 p.m. Robert W. Dean is the grief facilitator. Call 770-435-9038 for more information.
