PRAYER LIST
•RENEE DAVIS, a member of the church who lives in Nevada, will be relocating her family into the Atlanta area in a few weeks and requests the prayers of the South Cobb congregation. Her sister, MARY BOZEMAN, had surgery last week and is hoping to make a full recovery.
•ALENE GRIER had surgery to remove an ovarian cyst and is now at home doing well.
•NELL HICKS has been moved from Cobb Hospital to the Alzheimer’s unit of Brian Care Center on Powder Springs Road. She will be in rehab as well.
•CHRIS and DENISE HUGHES responded to the invitation at Sunday night’s service at Woodstock.
•PAT JOHNSON, Eric Johnson’s stepmother, is very sick.
•Carol Penland passed away Monday morning. Her funeral was on Friday.
•TAYLOR LEBLANC, daughter of Chris Hughes’ boss, Eddie LeBlanc, was involved in a boating accident last week in Birmingham, Ala. She had brain surgery last Wednesday and is in stable condition.
•JENNIFER MILLS responded to the invitation at Sunday night’s service at Woodstock.
•Carol Penland passed away after suffering from numerous health problems over the past few years. The funeral was earlier this week. Please remember her family in prayer including her husband HOYT PENLAND and former South Cobb member DEBBIE OTTO.
•MARVELENE PHILPOT fell and dislocated her shoulder. She is now in Brian Care Center on Anderson Mill Rd., Rm. 203.
•RICK SAILORS, a friend of the Finchers, has been diagnosed with colon cancer.
•TAMI STROUD responded to the invitation at Sunday night’s service at Woodstock.
•MELVIN THOMPSON is in room 320 at Cobb Hospital for rehabilitation.
•DELMA TIDWELL, Tommy Tidwell’s father, continues to have circulation problems in his feet due to diabetes. He went with Tommy to see two different doctors last week in Birmingham and will possibly need to see two more to determine what needs to be done. It is still possible that he may lose his foot.
•RHONDA TILLER, a friend of Dee McGinnis, has been diagnosed with melanoma.
•KYLE and CRYSTAL WALKER responded to the invitation at Sunday night’s service at Woodstock.
•SHERILL WILSON, a former member at the Liberty Hill congregation, suffered a stroke and is not doing well.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
•Monday Night for the Master will begin meeting weekly on Sept. 19. A covered dish dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Please use this opportunity to rededicate yourself to service for the Lord. There is plenty of work for everyone! Someone is especially needed to provide childcare.
•You are invited to attend a “Basic Principles” Bible class on Sunday mornings. Richard Holbrook is teaching the class, and it meets next door to the building in the church offices.
•The Ladies Morning Bible Class is now meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. in the offices next door to the building.
•Macland Road Church of Christ has announced plans to start the West Cobb Christian Academy (K–8). Macland Road will host a fundraising event for the WCCA on Sept. 24 at 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Those who attend will be informed about the school and invited to help support the school financially. Brunch will be provided. Please RSVP by Sept. 17.
•Please be sure to pick up the directory updates from the tract rack as you enter the building. If you know of any other updates or need a new picture taken, please let Jonathan Stroud know as soon as possible.
•Sunday door greeters are needed for the rest 2005 and 2006. Please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board.
•When planning an event for the congregation, please record it on the planning calendar in the foyer. If your event conflicts with another event, please see Larry Stubblefield.

BENEVOLENCE
•Camp Inagehi will be used over the next couple of months to house evacuees of Hurricane Katrina. Today, several families from New Orleans will arrive at the camp and more are expected soon. Some of the evacuees are members of the Bywater Church of Christ in Downtown New Orleans. Many supplies are needed in order to help these families. South Cobb has been asked to donate the following: flashlights, bug spray, laundry baskets, detergent, fabric softener, trash bags (39 gal. and kitchen size), toilet paper and Pine-Sol. Monetary donations and gift cards to grocery and discount stores are also needed.
•The church of Christ disaster relief effort has sent four truckloads of goods to the Gulf Coast, and will be sending more as they can. They have sent two trucks to Baton Rouge, La.,one truck to Lafayette, La., and one truck to Jackson, Miss. They are accepting monetary gifts in order to continue providing more supplies. For more information, please call 615-833-0888.
•South Cobb sent the remaining food boxes left over from the local disaster relief, along with the bagged clothes and the rest of the cleaning supplies to Gulfport, Miss. The rest of the beds will be distributed soon. It is time to begin bringing goods for Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets.

YOUTH
•Sept. 16–18 — R.U.S.H. at Freed-Hardeman University
All those attending need to meet at the building at 4:30 p.m. of Friday.
•Sept. 18 — Youth Devotional
The devotional will be held at the home of Eric and Lexann Johnson after the evening service. Girls should bring deserts and chips; boys should bring drinks and chips.
•Sept. 23–24 — Villa Rica Church of Christ Youth Rally
The theme is “One.” Luke Suggs, Keith Olbricht, Jake Campbell and Patrick Gray will speak.
•Nov. 11–12 — Lithia Springs Church of Christ Youth Lectureship
More information will be available soon.
•Dec. 27–30 — Exposure 2005
The theme is “The Reality Show” and will held at the Huntsville Hilton. The cost is $80.

•Sept. 29 — Georgia Agape’s Celebration Banquet
Jody Vickery from the Campus Church of Christ will be the keynote speaker. The banquet will be held at the Westin-Atlanta North Hotel at Perimeter at 7 p.m. The cost is $27.50 per person (Agape’s cost). To order tickets, call 770-452-9995.
