PRAYER LIST
•MARCHELLE AWA responded to the Lord’s invitation the Sunday before last. She is experiencing family problems and needs the support of the congregation.
•MARK ESTES has accepted a position with the U.S. Foreign Service and has moved to Washington D.C. He will eventually serve in posts overseas.
•BRENDA GATTIS responded to the Lord’s invitation the Sunday before last and requested the prayers of the congregation for her family. She also asked the congregation to send her son, Billy, birthday cards and messages of encouragement.
•ALENE GRIER is scheduled to have laparoscopy for removal of an ovarian cyst today.
•PAT JOHNSON, Eric Johnson’s stepmother, is very sick.
•JENNIFER MILLS has been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.
•MARK ORLER will have surgery on Sept. 1.
•MARVELENE PHILPOT fell and dislocated her shoulder. She is now in Brian Care Center on Anderson Mill Rd., Rm. 203.
•RICK SAILORS, a friend of the Finchers, has been diagnosed with colon cancer.
•JENNIFER & ADRIENNE SMITH are both attending college out of state. Jennifer is a junior at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Fla. and Adrienne is a freshman at Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss. Jennifer attends the Centerville Rd. Church of Christ in Tallahassee and Adrienne attends the Hanging Moss Rd. Church of Christ in Jackson.
•JONATHAN and TAMI STROUD are expecting their second child due April, 10.
•IVADELL TAYLOR fell and hurt her arm recently. There were no broken bones, but she did cut her arm.
•DELMA TIDWELL, Tommy Tidwell’s father, continues to have circulation problems in his feet due to diabetes. He went with Tommy to see two different doctors last week in Birmingham and will possibly need to see two more to determine what needs to be done. It is still possible that he may lose his foot.
•SAM ANDERSON WHITAKER, the grandson of Jerry and Rosslyn Anderson, was born on Thursday, Aug. 25 to parents Page Anderson and Dan Whitaker. Sam weighed 9 lbs., 4 oz. and measured 21 inches long. Everyone is doing well.
•SHERILL WILSON, a former member at the Liberty Hill congregation, suffered a stroke and is not doing well.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
•Sept. 8 — Seniors Luncheon
The luncheon will begin at 12 p.m. at the building. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.
•On Sept. 11, Georgia Agape will begin a 10 week series of foster parent orientation and training classes. More families are desperately needed. If you are ready to learn more about how you can help, please call Jayne Osburn at 770-452-9995.
•The Ladies Morning Bible Class will begin Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10:30 a.m.
•The Bible school fall quarter began Sunday. A teacher is still needed to take over the Wednesday night cradle roll class.
•The Georgia School of Preaching and Biblical Studies will begin fall classes on August 29 and 30. Enrollment forms are available from Tommy in the church office.

•Macland Road Church of Christ has announced plans to start the West Cobb Christian Academy (K–8). Macland Road will host a fundraising event for the WCCA on Sept. 24 at 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Those who attend will be informed about the school and invited to help support the school financially. Brunch will be provided. Please RSVP by Sept. 17.
•Please be sure to pick up the directory updates from the tract rack as you enter the building. If you know of any other updates or need a new picture taken, please let Jonathan Stroud know as soon as possible.
•Sunday door greeters are needed for the rest 2005 and 2006. Please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board.
•When planning an event for the congregation, please record it on the planning calendar in the foyer. If your event conflicts with another event, please see Larry Stubblefield.
BENEVOLENCE
•A special thank you goes to everyone who has participated in the flood relief effort. We have been able to distribute food, water, cleaning supplies, furniture, bedding and other items to many families that suffered damage to their homes in the recent floods. If you know of any families that are still in need, please let Tommy Tidwell or one of the elders or deacons know. We still have plenty of supplies and want to make sure they go to those who need it.
•The Raintree Village Children’s Home truck will be in the area September 6–7. They especially need the following items: garbage bags (all sizes); canned fruit juices, paper goods (towels/tissue/plates/cups), dishwashing liquid; canned meats.
Other needs include: laundry detergent; soups; salad dressings; fruit/veggies (gal.); deodorant/liquid soaps; cleaning products; fabric softener; bleach; barbecue/spaghetti sauces; Jell-O; assorted cereals; sugar; extra long fitted twin sheets; standard pillows; cake mixes/frostings; alcohol; toothpaste; mops/brooms; Children’s Motrin; allergy/cold/sinus meds; antibiotic ointment; reg./decaf. tea; yams; vegetable shortening; Hamburger Helper; school supplies; shaving cream; Vaseline; plastic wrap/wax paper/ aluminum foil; brown sugar.

•Sept. 2–4 — Youth Retreat at Camp Inagehi
Registration is $30 and should be paid at the event. There is a complete schedule on the bulletin board. See Jonathan Stroud for more information.

•Sept. 23–24 — Villa Rica Church of Christ Youth Rally
The theme is “One.” Luke Suggs, Keith Olbricht, Jake Campbell and Patrick Gray will speak.

The theme is “The Reality Show” and will held at the Huntsville Hilton. The cost is $80.
