PRAYER LIST
•LIZ CAPES’ uncle, Lloyd Edenfield, passed away last week. His funeral was Monday.
•LYN DAVIS, a member at West Metro, had hernia surgery last week. The hernia had grown into the small intestine, and he is still in Piedmont Hospital, Room 586.
•MARK ESTES has accepted a position with the U.S. Foreign Service and will move to Washington D.C. in August and will eventually serve in posts overseas.
•RICHARD HOLBROOK went to Kennestone Hospital last Sunday evening suffering from pain in his arms and legs. He had a heart catherization on Tuesday.
•LOUISE HOLDER, Ann Jordan’s mother, is not doing well. She is not expected to live much longer.
•ASHLEY HULSEY, daughter of Randy and Cindy Hulsey, had a MRI on Wednesday to determine if her cancer has returned. She will learn the results soon.
•JENNIFER and JEREMY MILLS lost their baby. Jennifer had a D&C on Tuesday at Kennestone.
•DAISY MORRIS, neighbor of Billie Frady, has lung cancer and is not doing well.
•CAROL PENLAND is in Emory recovering from surgery. Doctors expect her recovery to take at least four weeks.
•IVADELL TAYLOR fell and hurt her arm last week. There were no broken bones, but she did cut her arm.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
•A personal evangelism class is now being offered on Sunday mornings in the fellowship hall. See Eric Johnson or Bruce Stroud for more information.
•SONflowers Learning Academy at Macland Road Church of Christ is about to begin the 2005-06 school year. SONflowers Learning Academy offers childcare for ages 8 months–4 years old. If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 770-427-3626.
•The Georgia School of Preaching and Biblical Studies will begin fall classes on August 29 and 30.  Enrollment forms are available from Tommy in the church office. If you have questions about the school or would like a catalog, please call the Piedmont Road church of Christ at 770-971-9933.
•Anyone that has limited hearing and would like to use a sound amplifier during church services, needs to see Ronnie Dorsey or Chris Tidwell.
•Please be sure to pick up the directory updates from the tract rack as you enter the building. If you know of any other updates or need a new picture taken, please let Jonathan Stroud know as soon as possible.
•Sunday door greeters are needed for the rest 2005. Please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board.
•When planning an event for the congregation, please record it on the planning calendar in the foyer. If your event conflicts with another event, please see Larry Stubblefield.

BENEVOLENCE
•A special thank you goes to everyone who has participated in the flood relief effort. We have been able to distribute food, water, cleaning supplies, furniture, bedding and other items to many families that suffered damage to their homes in the recent floods. If you know of any families that are still in need, please let Tommy Tidwell or one of the elders or deacons know. We still have plenty of supplies and want to make sure they go to those who need it.
•The Raintree Village Children’s Home Truck will be in the Area Tuesday and Wednesday, September 6, 7 2005. They especially need the following items: garbage bags (all sizes); canned fruit juices, paper goods (towels/tissue/plates/cups), dishwashing liquid; canned meats.
Other needs include: laundry detergent; soups; salad dressings; fruit/veggies (gal.); deodorant/liquid soaps; cleaning products; fabric softener; bleach; barbecue/spaghetti sauces; Jell-o; assorted cereals; sugar; extra long fitted twin sheets; standard pillows; cake mixes/frostings; alcohol; toothpaste; mops/brooms; Children’s Motrin; allergy/cold/sinus meds; antibiotic ointment; reg./decaf. tea; yams; vegetable shortening; Hamburger Helper; school supplies; shaving cream; Vaseline; plastic wrap/wax paper/ aluminum foil; brown sugar.

YOUTH
•Sept. 2–4 — Youth Retreat at Camp Inagehi
Registration is $30. There is a complete schedule on the bulletin board. See Jonathan Stroud for more information.
•Sept. 16–18 — R.U.S.H. at Freed-Hardeman University
R.U.S.H. is a weekend for middle and high school students to get a taste of life at a Christian University. It is not too late to turn in your late registration fees ($30). See Jonathan Stroud for more information.

•Nov. 11–12 — Lithia Springs Church of Christ Youth Lectureship

AREA EVENTS
•Aug. 13 — Reception in honor of Richard Harp’s 50th year preaching the Gospel
The reception will be held from 2–4 p.m. at the Tara Church of Christ in Jonesboro. Those that are not able to attend are asked to send a memory or hand written card in gratitude for his service. Please see the announcement on the bulletin board for more information.
•Aug. 13 — Ladies Day at the Lithia Springs Church of Christ
The theme will be “Building a Stronger Spiritual Family,” based on 1 Corinthians 3:6–14. Mercedes Hitchcock will speak. The ladies day begins at 9 a.m.
•Aug. 28 — Locust Grove Church of Christ Groundbreaking Ceremony
The ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. Peter A. Moss will speak.
•Sept. 9–11 — Bremen Lectureship
All lessons will be taken from 2 Thessalonians. Speakers will include Robert Taylor Jr., William Woodson, Bobby Liddell, James Segars, David Smith, Kenneth Gossett and James Rogers.
