PRAYER LIST
•SANDY BRUNDIGE, Tommy Tidwell’s sister, is being treated for esophageal cancer and doing well.
•GROVER COLE is scheduled to have another colonoscopy to remove a non-cancerous polyp.
•BOB and JEAN DAVIS are doing much better, and both were able to attend services recently.
•DAVID FLOYD is now home after having follow-up treatments to his recent eye surgery in Florida.
•RALPH GOUGH received a second opinion about his cancer and will not require surgery at this time. Instead, he will start chemotherapy soon.
•ORA GREEN is at home, but not doing well.
•Tom Johnson, LARHEASA TIDWELL’s uncle, passed away after suffering a heart attack last Thursday. His funeral was Monday in Del Rio, Tex.
•JENNIFER and JEREMY MILLS announced that they are expecting a baby.
•CAROL PENLAND is in Emory recovering from surgery. Doctors expect her recovery to take at least four weeks.
•HOYT PENLAND had to have a stent put in last week after experiencing chest pains while visiting his wife at Emory. He is now recovering at home.
•HALEIGH WALKER is now at home after a short hospital stay last week. She has pneumonia, but is improving.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
•Paul and Anna Attaway and Daryl and Becky Custred invite you to share in the joy of the marriage uniting their children Allison and Clay. The wedding will be on Saturday, August 6 at 7 p.m. at Rosehall, 808 School Road, Dallas, Ga.
•There will be a luncheon and wedding shower for Joanna (Stroud) Campbell on Sunday, Aug. 7, after the morning service. The menu will be sandwiches and salads. Joanna is registered at Macy’s and Dillard’s. See Dawn Stubblefield or Marice Allen for more information.
•Anyone that has limited hearing and would like to use a sound amplifier during church services, needs to see Ronnie Dorsey or Chris Tidwell.
•Please be sure to pick up the directory updates from the tract rack as you enter the building. If you know of any other updates or need a new picture taken, please let Jonathan Stroud know as soon as possible.
•Sunday door greeters are needed for the rest 2005. Please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board.
•When planning an event for the congregation, please record it on the planning calendar in the foyer. If your event conflicts with another event, please see Larry Stubblefield.
BENEVOLENCE
•A special thank you goes to everyone who has participated in the flood relief effort. We have been able to distribute food, water, cleaning supplies and other items to many families that suffered damage to their homes in the recent floods. We still need more help! If you know of any families that are still in need, please let Tommy Tidwell or one of the elders or deacons know. We still have a lot of food and supplies and want to make sure it goes to those who need it.
YOUTH
•July 24 Sunday Night Youth Devotional
The devotional will follow the evening service at Chris and Dodie Tidwell’s home. Girls should bring drinks and boys should bring chips.
•July 27–30 — Vacation Bible School
Please mark your calendars. This year’s theme is “Bible Boot Camp.” There will be classes for all ages including adults. Volunteers are needed, please see Jonathan Stroud for more information.
•Sept. 16–18 — R.U.S.H. at Freed-Hardeman University
R.U.S.H. is a weekend for middle and high school students to get a taste of life at a Christian University. If you are interested in attending, you must turn in your registration fees ($25) to Jonathan Stroud before Aug. 1.
SOUTH COBB EVENTS
•July 27–30 — Vacation Bible School
•July 30 — VBS Community Cookout
The final day of VBS will begin at 10 a.m. and the cookout will start at noon. Please invite your friends and neighbors to this community event. If you are interested in helping prepare the food, please see Jonathan Stroud.
•Sept. 11–15 — Cooperative Meeting
•Sept. 22–Oct. 2 — North Georgia State Fair
AREA EVENTS
•Aug. 13 — Ladies Day at the Lithia Springs Church of Christ
The theme will be “Building a Stronger Spiritual Family,” based on 1 Corinthians 3:6–14. Mercedes Hitchcock will speak. The ladies day begins at 9 a.m.
•Sept. 9–11 — Bremen Lectureship
All lessons will be taken from 2 Thessalonians. Speakers will include Robert Taylor Jr., William Woodson, Bobby Liddell, James Segars, David Smith, Kenneth Gossett and James Rogers.
