IN NEED OF PRAYER
•JOYCE BOBB, aunt of Marcia Anderson, went to the emergency room Sunday after suffering a heart attack. She was transferred the following day to Kennestone Hospital where she had a stint installed to open up a blockage. She is home now and doing well. In a few weeks, she will go back for another stint to be placed on the other side of her heart.
•BARRY BROADWAY was diagnosed with lymphoma and is scheduled to start treatment this coming Wednesday.
•EDDIE GOUGH, son of Francis Gough, has been diagnosed with cancer. He has a tumor on his thymus gland and another in his back.
•KATHERINE HESTER, a family friend of the Maupin’s, is awaiting a liver transplant.
•GAIL HOLBROOK went home on May 2 as she continues recovering from her recent heart surgery. Please continue remembering her and Richard in prayer.
•BEN HOUSE JR., who formerly attended South Cobb, was in a motorcycle accident. He broke three ribs, his collarbone and bruised his lungs. Doctors put a rod in his left leg because it was broken in three places. He is in the Atlanta Medical Center in rehab, and hopes to go home soon.
•DAVID JACKSON had tests run on his bladder on April 29th at Kennestone Hospital and is awaiting the results.
•LARRY KING came forward during the meeting and asked for the congregation’s prayers that he be a better Christian and a better example to those who know and love him.
•BRUCE LEFEVER, a friend of Jerry Anderson, had a stroke and is paralyzed on his right side, and cannot speak.
•LINDA NIXON is mourning the loss of her father, Robie Trout, who passed away Friday morning.
•RUBY PHILIPS, Tommy Tidwell’s aunt, had two episodes of cardiac arrest Thursday. She is in the CCU at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Ala.
•MARY ROSS, cousin of Buddy Maupin, is suffering from lung cancer.
•PAT SCHINALL, friend of Margie Gattis, is awaiting a liver transplant. She is having further tests at Emory.
•JOE SHINHOLSTER, husband of Melba Shinholster, is suffering from lung cancer, peripheral artery disease and other health problems.
•ABBY SMITH, the 3-year-old daughter of friends of Michael and Nancy Walker, has a brain tumor and another tumor on her spine that is inoperable.
•DAWN STUBBLEFIELD has Graves’ Disease. Doctors will give her radioactive iodine to kill her thyroid gland, and then she will have to take hormones the rest of her life.
•JACKIE STUBBLEFIELD is mourning the loss of her brother, David Lusk, who passed away Tuesday. His funeral was Friday.
•JEAN STUBBLEFIELD, sister-in-law of Jackie Stubblefield and aunt to Larry and Jennie, is unable to get a kidney transplant and is now very sick.
•LARRY STUBBLEFIELD is still in pain from the broken collarbone he suffered in a wreck recently. Doctors found that the bone has not knitted together, and there is a half inch gap between the bones.

•JOEY SHIPP, grandson of Charles & Glenda Shipp, has been deployed to Iraq. His mailing address while in Iraq is LCPL Joseph C. Shipp, MWSS 274 DET A HQCO, Unit 78107, FPO AE 09509-8107.
•MICHAEL SMITH is in now back in the United States. He has finished his tour of duty in Iraq and will be stationed in Kansas for the time being. His email address is michael.smith182@us.army.mil.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
•Parents, please do not allow your children to run in the auditorium. Last week an older member of the congregation almost tripped over one of the children and narrowly avoided what could have been a serious injury.
•The Ladies’ Morning Bible Class meets on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. All ladies are invited to participate.
•A weight loss support group meets Tuesday at the building at 9:45 a.m. in the ladies’ Bible classroom. If you are interested, please come and see how everyone encourages one another.
•Romeka Middleton and Ishmael Gordon would like to invite everyone to celebrate with them at their wedding ceremony on June 28 at the Macland Road Church of Christ building at 3 p.m. Due to the capacity limits there will be a private reception for the family.
•When planning an event for the congregation, please record it on the planning calendar in the foyer. If your event conflicts with another, please see one of the deacons.

SOUTH COBB EVENTS
•May 8 — Senior Luncheon
All seniors are invited to lunch at Howard’s Restaurant in Smyrna at noon.
•May 17 — Cookout in honor of our Graduates
The cookout will be held at the building at 6 p.m. The menu will include chicken and sausages (provided). Please plan to bring a side dishes, desserts and drinks.

May 23 — Friday Night Fellowship
Bruce and Ann Stroud will host the evening of fellowship at Thompson Park located at 555 Nickajack Rd, Mableton from 6–8 p.m. The menu is hamburgers and hot dogs (provided). Please plan to bring side items, desserts and drinks.
•The Summer Series will begin soon. The Theme for this year’s Summer Series is the Church. More details about topics and speakers will be available soon.
AREA EVENTS
•May 4–7 — Gospel Meeting
The Villa Rica congregation is hosting the meeting. Tyler Young will be teaching lessons geared toward youth, and presenting information to ALL members concerning the way our culture is heading.
•May 18–21 — Gospel Meeting
The Fayetteville congregation is hosting the meeting. John Moore from World Video Bible School and the “Searching For Truth” video series will speak.
YOUTH
•May 10 — Youth Rally
The Bremen congregation is hosting the event. The theme is “Text Messages.” Speakers include James Jones, Loren Barchett, Greg Nash and Justin Paschall.
•June 22–28 — Camp Inagehi
South Cobb’s week, directed by Tommy Tidwell, is open to all youth from 8 years old and up. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please see Tommy Tidwell or Jonathan Stroud. Camper registration materials will be available soon.
•July 7–July 11 — Junior Day Camp
All children under 9 years old are invited to participate in this year’s day camp directed by Jonathan Stroud. Day counselors are also needed. See Jonathan Stroud if you are able to help.
