How Pleasant to Dwell Together in Unity!

At South Cobb, we believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. Our authority in faith and practice is the Bible. We do not subscribe to human tradition or doctrines, but only by the scriptures.

Although the South Cobb Church of Christ came into being on January 1, 1994, it has a long and rich history. The Liberty Hill and Clarkdale congregations, which began in 1865 and 1958 respectively agreed to a merger in the fall of 1993. For the first few months the new congregation met at the Clarkdale building. Then, for approximately one year the church worshiped at the Winkenhofer Funeral Home on Flint Hill Rd in Austell. Growth was taking place even as we met in this temporary location.

Our First Sunday in the beautiful new building we now occupy was July 9, 1995. Since that day we have steadily grown numerically and spiritually.

Every Church must have a vision of what it wants to be or it will die. We dream of always being a church that is faithful to the Lord and his inspired Word. Our dreams included being a family that welcomes our brothers and sisters to the Lord regardless ethnic backgrounds or any other superficial differences. We firmly and joyfully accept the truth that all are one in Christ.
